Located in the exclusive gated community of Las Misiones in Santiago, Nuevo León, a region that has evolved from rural estates into a hub of luxury residences. This single-story home redefines the notion of contemporary elegance. The property boasts a privileged view of the iconic Cerro de la Silla, framed by the natural and urban corridor formed by the Carretera Nacional (National Highway), a key artery in the development of the Monterrey metropolitan area.
The project began with the acquisition of two adjacent lots, allowing for a horizontally developed residence that stretches along the main street, Misiones Centro. Beyond its architectural design and technological features, the project proposes a more conscious, efficient, and environmentally attuned way of living.
The floor plan adopts a horseshoe shaped geometry, where the heart of the home comprises the social areas, while the lateral wings house the service quarters and private bedrooms. This configuration not only ensures a clear division of functions but also creates interior courtyards and gardens that provide natural light, ventilation, and privacy. A longitudinal hallway connects all spaces, establishing a fluid, hierarchical path enhanced by sculptural and spatial focal points, with ceiling heights that reinforce the hierarchy of each area.
Accessibility was one of the key pillars of the design: the site was carefully leveled to eliminate steps and physical barriers, accommodating long-term use, especially for elderly residents. This also allowed for a subtle elevation of one corner of the house, enhancing privacy in the bedroom wing. And thanks to its precise orientation, expansive windows, and high ceilings, the home maximizes cross ventilation and daylight, significantly reducing the need for artificial lighting and climate control.
The design strikes a balance between regional materials such as stone and wood and contemporary elements like polished concrete, steel, and glass. The resulting architectural language is both understated and sophisticated, in harmony with the surrounding landscape. While visible from the street, the main entrance is set to one side, allowing for a more private and functional foyer. The social area is defined by a generous double-height volume that includes the living room, dining area (with direct access to the kitchen), a lounge, and a sculptural bar with a wine cellar, all opening directly onto the terrace and grill area. Large sliding doors extend the social space outdoors, where the terrace features a grill and bar, outdoor living area, lounge, firepit, sun loungers, jacuzzi, and a front-facing pool. The 25-meter-long pool, complete with a lap lane, connects with both public and private spaces, offering direct access from the master bedroom merging luxury, wellness, and functionality in a single experience.
Designed as a smart and self-sufficient home, the residence is equipped with state-of-the-art solar panels, discreetly hidden Powerwall batteries in the garage, a rainwater harvesting and purification system, and EV charging infrastructure. All systems are integrated into a smart-home platform, enabling full control over lighting, climate, automated blinds, security, entertainment, and irrigation from any mobile device.
