Casa unifamiliare a Vallemaggia

Vallemaggia is a small district in the canton of Ticino, nestled in a valley adorned with lush green fields that stretch amidst enchanting natural landscapes of mountains and crystalline waters of its winding river. Each house and every stone bears witness to the rich culture and history of the area.  

A new family home is being designed by the up-and-coming yet renowned Swiss architect Simone Quadri. In line with his vision, the interior design aims to articulate his ideas and functionality, while also addressing every need expressed by the homeowners. 

Clean, natural, and meticulously detailed—these were the guiding principles we embraced to enhance and complement the design of the house. We took these rules to heart, along with the most important one of all: to never obstruct the breathtaking view of Vallemaggia's valley and mountains. Central to the project is the main actor of the house: an ancient boulder, the heart of the design. This massive rock, which once tumbled down from the mountain peak, now dictates the development of the design, serving as a reminder of nature's enduring presence. 

Terrazzo flooring, semi-polished concrete, oak wood, and white plaster take center stage in every space. In the living room, which boasts the best view of the social areas, an unobstructed layout ensures that everything faces the opposite wall, leaving the curtain walls free from obstacles. The chimney, adorned in oak, serves as a focal point, seamlessly connecting to the hallway and leading into the sleek kitchen, where workspace is cleverly concealed, with only its marble details illuminated.

The dining area features a double height space with an elongated wooden window on the upper level, providing protection from cold winters while allowing ample natural light to accentuate every detail. A refined and tranquil design characterizes the winery, which adorns the wall visible from the main access of the living room, complemented by delicate hanging lamps that highlight the double height space.
