Monterrey is known for its extensive grilling culture and boasts a great variety of quality meats, similar to other northern Mexican cities. The tradition of joining family and friends for a football match or weekend gathering is now deeply embedded in the Regiomontano (demonym for the people of Monterrey) culture.
This project stems from the desire of a dedicated griller to host gatherings for friends and family regularly. Over the years, this passion has worn down the old personal grill space, prompting the need for renovation. However, this necessity served as the perfect opportunity to reimagine the space, creating a more dynamic social experience and providing the client with a better and more functional workspace for their passion.
A slender steel structure is used to assemble a delicate and slim cover that seems to gently float beneath the main core of the grill station, offering shade and protection to the amenities.
The grill station features an L-sized Green Egg positioned on the left side for visibility from the garden. In the center is a custom-made 1-meter-long gas grill crafted from stainless steel, accompanied by a chrome sink with a pull-down function sprayer. The remaining space on the station is designated for working space. Below the station are storage shelves with stainless steel doors.
The chimney hood is constructed from high-temperature-resistant galvanized steel, ensuring rust resistance and boasting a smooth satin black finish. Concealed within the chimney hood are two extractors, one for each grill. The island is crafted from high-quality granite, with storage drawers hidden behind wooden doors.
The shade cover is outlined by an alucobond cap, which helps cover the rain drains and slope. Beneath the cover, timber is sealed against humidity, and the station is equipped with spotlights with dimmer functionality and WiFi-controlled loudspeakers.
