Place: El Manzano

The region called el Manzano is nestled within the majestic Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range in northeastern Mexico, near the metropolitan city of Monterrey. It is renowned for its rich diversity of endemic flora and fauna, numerous waterfalls, and stunning landscapes.
The main idea of the project is to traverse a small, dry river that becomes a dynamic stream during rainy days. The design aims to maximize the landscape views, providing users with an immersive experience of the natural surroundings.
The house elegantly spans the river using a sophisticated combination of wooden frames and joint techniques, seamlessly integrating with the natural environment. Structural integrity is enhanced by strategically placed steel elements and tensile supports, creating the illusion of the house effortlessly floating above the water. Inside, exposed wooden beams and steel tensors emphasize the harmony between traditional craftsmanship and modern engineering, providing a spacious, airy ambiance that blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces.
The design features an open common area combining a living room, bar, breakfast nook, and dining table. This spacious layout ensures that each section shares the same breathtaking landscape views, allowing occupants to enjoy the scenery from multiple vantage points without needing to move between areas.
