The Vista Valle new housing development is nestled alongside the Sierra Madre Oriental mountain range, near the municipality of Montemorelos. The neighborhood primarily comprises expensive and luxurious countryside houses due to its remote location from other major cities in the state of Nuevo León. However, it offers all the advantages and coziness of the Montemorelos surroundings.
To fully appreciate the mountain range from every social area without obstruction, the design incorporates double heights in the social gathering spaces. Additionally, it creatively addresses the unusual fan-shaped slope of the plot while maximizing the available construction area.
The house consists of two rectangles positioned in the middle of the plot, where the slope gently increases. The upper rectangle, which houses the private and semi-private rooms, is rotated southward to preserve existing trees, establish a family terrace connected to the living room and kitchen, and offer breathtaking views of the mountain scenery.
The lower volume, parallel to the street, accommodates the garage and front entrance, along with the living room and kitchenette, which serve the front pool and side barbecue area. The guest room, laundry, and service room are situated at the back of the volume, each with access to the rear terrace.
Upon entering the main entrance, you are greeted by a grand helical stair that leads to the upper level, where you can admire the impressive double height space and the expansive terrace overlooking the stunning mountain range. The upper level also features five individual family rooms, including a principal room with a 180-degree view of the garden and four secondary rooms, each with a balcony overlooking the private north area of the plot. Additionally, there is a mezzanine-like studio with a skylight.
The hallway that distributes the rooms serves to separate them from the family terrace for privacy reasons and aids in avoiding direct sun exposure during hot summers. The gable roof is oriented in the opposite direction to prevent heavy rains and winds from impacting the high windows and to preserve the mountain view from the front.
