For quite some time, Monterrey has been a leader in the medical field in northern Mexico. In the region of the hill named Cerro Obispado, many medical practices are situated due to its central proximity to nearby hospitals and easy accessibility for the entire metropolitan area.
Clínica de Ojos is a multidisciplinary ophthalmology clinic that integrates the latest technology in both consultation, diagnosis, and surgical areas. With over 40 years of experience, the decision was made to relocate the headquarters to the medical area of Cerro Obispado. The new premises, previously used by an insurance company, provide an opportunity for a fresh image and upgrade.
To expedite the move from the old premises to the newly constructed facility, the project design relies on fast construction methods. This approach includes exposed installations, utilizing or reusing existing elements such as walls, curtain walls, lamps, and furniture. Only visual focal points are detailed to ensure the project remains economically viable and on schedule.
For the first stage, which is the penthouse, the old ceiling structure was selectively cut to expose the ribbed structure of the coffered slab, which has been painted in matte black to conceal imperfections. All ceiling installations will be exposed, with most of them also painted for easy setup and maintenance. The existing walls have been repaired, painted, and enhanced with wood and metal panel details to address differences in joints and clashes in geometry resulting from readjustments made during the original construction prior to our input.
